The need for access to clean water in Sierra Leone hasn’t been met so why would my running stop. Every run I take gives me an opportunity to share about the remaining need for clean water in Africa. Today’s run started off good but the second half was a tough to get through. It wasn’t a terrible training run but it wasn’t my best. When someone in Sierra Leone needs to make a trip to find water, there can be some good days, or some bad day. Clean water has a huge effect on a village. When clean water is readily available it means students can go to school that would have otherwise had to spend their days collecting water. In the U.S. we have access to many things that we end up just taking for granted. And it’s not a matter of doing something wrong it’s just what we are used to. When a village receives a well it is a big celebration of thankfulness.
