DNF 14 Miles, Winter Won Today

Some days you have a hard run, then there are some days where your it’s just brutal. Today the deep coat of fresh snow got the better of me. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus I was even doing my best just stick with my training plan running pace of 11:01/mi, but that wasn’t enough to get me through it. After 10 miles I just need to rest, which was only 2.5 miles after I had started up again running with the Hope Water team for maybe a mile before we parted ways. It’s tough having a day like to day knowing that in 2 weeks I’m supposed to be running a marathon (26.2 miles for those that don’t know).

Hitting The Training Run Hard

Today was a short assessment training run, basically 12 minutes of giving it all you’ve got. It’s preceded by, and follows, a 5 minute warmup & cool down run respectively. I did an out-and-back while giving myself some distance for a final cool down walk to home. We’ll see what this means for my final target pace for the Groundhog Marathon. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus I’m looking forward to representing Hope Water at the Groundhog Marathon again. My hope is to keep on target with the pace my training plan estimated and to complete it without having to walk. A Tough Tuesday Training Run

I could tell from the start that it was going to be a tough run. I even made a point of going to bed early the night before, because I was going to need to be up by 3:45am to get my 11 mile done at a decent time. I made it to 10 miles and had to stop and let my keys takes rest. Tackling The Wind And The Rain

This morning was a cold, wet, and windy run to meet up with the Hope Water team. I did enjoy running with some of the team for about a mile-and-a-half before parting and finishing out my last 6.5 miles. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus The trek back home was quite a bit harder given that I was running into the wind instead of with the wind. It also didn’t help that I really had to kick things into higher gear to start to arrive by 8am to run with the team.
