Starting Off The Week With A Long Wet Training Run

Despite the rain and chill, caused by a little breeze, it was decent enough to get out for a longer run. The weather was still a big motivator to keep going, which unfortunately caused my pace to be faster than what the training plan called for, but oh well. #Endomondo I enjoyed a run full of #worship music, but I felt so overwhelmed by the needs of friends and family, physically; emotionally; and spiritually, that it was very hard to focus and being very specific in my prayers. Perhaps this morning was supposed to be more about worship then bringing the never-ending mound of needs to Him. I’m still hoping to continue to raise money for more wells. I’d love to be able to hit…

Kicking Things Up A Notch

Today my training run was kicked up a notch with some interval speed work. It definitely tested how recovered I am from the marathon. It’s been awhile since I have done any high intensity runs of substantial length. These sorts of runs do make it hard to spend a lot of time focusing on prayer unfortunately. It did however bring to mind #WhyIRun during some of the intense intervals and help to keep me pushing on. #HWI #Run4Water Donate to Clean Water – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne

Unusual Running For A Wednesday

I waivered on whether to go out and run or break out the treadmill this morning. For me I figure if I’ve ran part of a marathon in a cold downpouring rain I can handle a 50 degree sprinkle for a free miles. In general I will always opt for the outdoors versus the treadmill. I found a new worship running album on Google Play Music this morning which I really enjoyed, and felt God had wanted me to hear that specific selection of songs this morning. I spent a chunk of time praying for the guys in my accountability group. Seems like more than ever lately all of us have felt attacked or at a low point. I’m thankful to have a group of…

Sticking To The Plan, An Ready Training Run

This morning I was able to keep the pace on the slower side. It helped to keep my mind on the worship music and lifting family and the people of a Sierra Leone up in prayer. When you see family struggle and there is not much you can do to help you realize quickly that God is wanting you to bring those needs to him to take care of. For the people of Sierra Leone, I don’t recall if their dry season has started yet, but regardless my prayers are for wells to continue to be drilled to provide more people easy access to clean water to help their children stay health and in school, and to improve life for their entire communities. And ultimately,…

Hitting The Pavement After The Grand Rapids Marathon

Back in the saddle with an “easy” 9 mile run. I’m still finding it hard to keep a consistent pace. I tried to keep it in the 10:14 min/mile pace but it’s hard for me to get in a rhythm at that pace. It felt good to be back out running again after the marathon. I enjoy the quiet time. I’m still trying to hit the $2000 mark for clean water. I’ve only got $350 more to go. I’m praying that my show of dedication to running inspires someone to partner with me. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Donate to Clean Water – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne
