Enjoying The Start Of A New Training Week

I enjoyed a shorter easy training run this morning. I guess it wasn’t super short as it was long enough to feel like I could get my mind off of the running and start listening to the words of the worship music playing and lift up those that God brought to my mind that needed prayer this morning. Doing The Long Winter Run

Got in good long run in this morning, with the help of my running partner. I was thankful to not have to do the whole 18 miles alone. It felt good to know that even in the winter I can do that long of a run. The last couple of miles was a push, but I was also about out of water, so that didn’t help matters. Another Tough Interval Training Run

I’m not sure what to make of yet another hard interval run. It is training so to a degree it should be hard. I guess I’m hopeful that in the end I will be better trained for the #GRGus Groundhog Day Marathon come February. I think I consider it a failure when I can’t hit the intervals all right on with the expected pace. Maybe I’m focusing too much on the plan and trying to get better instead of just being content with being ready to simply finish the marathon. There is also the aspect of not losing sight of the reasons I run. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun

Attempting To Follow The Plan

In an effort to actually take into consideration the things I read about running, and specifically training, I tried to slow things down today. I was still a bit faster than the training plan called for today but then it also felt like I was barely exerting myself, which is also kind of the point with slowing down and actually training my body and not just pounding on it. An additional benefit of slowing things down are being able focus and my one-on-one time with God. It allows me to actually listen to the words of the music that is playing, and listen to God’s prompting. Today was less about bring up my, or others, needs but about simply being thankful for where I am…

Kicking It Into High Gear

I felt pretty good starting out this morning with a speedy starting pace. It was a short run this morning so I kicked it up a notch s bit above the easy pace that was called for. I love it a couple of the worship songs come on that talk about running or moving, those really get me fired up. One thing is for certain, winter running is certainly my thing. Fighting The Urge To Just Go Back To Bed

It was tough to get going this morning. After another rough night with my daughter not being able to sleep I had all I could do to not just go back to bed after the alarm went off. Once I actually got the pavement my pace was a slow start for sure. I’m happy to say though that by the end things had turned around. I did enjoy a good time in prayer and worship. I not only lifted up some recent needs, and praise, but I also lifted up the people in Sierra Leone that are still struggling to gather clean water for their families.
