It’s The Abominable Snowman!
Let’s just say it was a little cold outside. I still don’t understand why people, and businesses, and churches couldn’t have their sidewalks clear by now. For those that got them cleared you are a blessing to us runners. I made the mistake of using my CamelBak again. The line froze again at about mile 3-4. I need to figure out something better, maybe the best I can do is water bottles when it’s this cold and just conserve. I can say that until now it’s been pretty great weather for runners in the winter. I take days like this as just another way to prepare for anything come the Groundhog Day Marathon. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus
Prequel To The Groundhog Day Marathon?
It was a tough run this morning the snow covered sidewalks and pathways really took their tole the further I got into my run. On top of that my CamelBak nozzle froze up and couldn’t get any water for a good portion of the second half of my run. What was supposed to be a 17 mile run ended up being only a 15 mile run. I had my mask on to help cover my face from the wind, which I’m so thankful I had decided to that otherwise my face probably would have been frozen. Running To The Beat
Nothing too spectacular about my run this morning. Tried sticking to the interval paces as best I could. I did pretty good but I know I didn’t slow down quite enough given that I should have gotten 9.2 miles in but it ended up being 9.65. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus
Doing An Easy Run To Avoid Injury
With the ice that hit yesterday I make sure to take it way and be on theo lookout for slick spots. The cleats I have do a pretty good job of keeping me from slipping, but I still didn’t want to take any chances of getting an injury this close to the marathon. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun
Feeling Like An Intense 5K Run
As I hit the pavement this morning I felt like just kicking into high gear for the entire run. I’m not quite sure that it was an overall lifetime #PR for a #5K but I’m pretty sure I finished better than more recent 5K times. What’s crazy is that it wasn’t like I had gotten extra sleep last night or had taken some time off running. I know turning on the new Christian Workout/Running playlist helped. Maybe since I’m on the taper for the marathon, and the miles aren’t as high, I’m just feeling like I have more energy.
