80 Degree Morning Run With The Blessing of Water

Sporting the Slip n Slide 5K shirt on my training run this morning. It was a hot one at 5am, I can’t imagine doing my run later today. Running in the heat took me back to our short 3 mile run in Freetown #SierraLeone and remembering #WhyIRun for those in need. I was blessed to have 2 fresh bottles of water available to me while I ran. Getting My Butt Out Of Bed And Hitting The Pavement

Another one of those mornings that took some extra effort to get it of bed and get out the door. I really had to fight with myself to not just go back to bed. Always feel even better when I finish a run knowing that I overcame the desire to just stay in bed. It becomes an easier decision when you think about giving up a little extra sleep for the cause of bringing people clean water. #HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water

WordPress Development On A Chromebook, Termux, & Neovim

So about 6 months ago I decided to make some changes to my personal development environment. I’ve been using a Chromebook as my primary machine since about 2013. I first purchased an Acer C710 for my wife to use but compared to our Macbook Pro it was a frustrating and subpar experience for her, not to mention she was a heavy Adobe Suite user. Since sharing the Macbook Pro was challenging I set out to use the Chromebook as me development machine. Originally I went with the crouton option. It was pretty sweet to have a full Linux environment alongside Chrome OS. I was then running a full LAMP environment with PhpStorm as my IDE. This worked OK, I had performance and stability issues at…
