During this time when the best course is staying at home away from others as much as possible focusing on and the people of Sierra Leone keep me going. if you let yourself get stuck on focusing on yourself you’ll start to get even more overwhelmed and selfish. When you focus on others in need you realize how blessed you truly are and can use that to help others as God intended for us.

Every day most of us, in the U.S. especially, have a dozen choices we can make. I had the choice to either get up at 4:30 am and run or stay in bed and sleep. Frozen Beard On The Final Stretch Of Training For The Groundhog Day Marathon

So as not to disappoint my fellow running mates, I got out there and got my Monday training run done complete with a frozen beard. Things were pretty good so long as I didn’t have to run into the wind. I picked my route so I could minimize running into the wind. I was pleasantly surprised by my overall average pace after finishing. I think Wednesday might be the most interesting final training run, we’ll see. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus

We all have those off days, for me today was one of those. The second half of my run was more challenging than last week. Given I PR’d for a half marathon I was surprised by today. I really can’t complain, I was supposed to be running a 9:40 min/mi pace. So in reality I was pushing when I shouldn’t have been. Some times I think about giving up the focus on pace and even getting faster and just go out and enjoy the run for what it is. A well is the start of helping a village help themselves. The responsibility of the well, and the well-being of the village, is on a team of leaders from the village.
