Having Your Bowels Cut Your Run Short

Yeah, it’s not pleasant to talk about, but as a runner you generally are aware of the things that can happen while on a long run. And when you aren’t someplace where you can find a well placed #JohnnyBlue things get interesting real quick. I had to cut a couple of miles off my long run this morning in order to literally make a run for the restroom. It didn’t kill my pace, I suppose it maybe helped to some degree. It doesn’t happen very often to me but I’ll have to be a little more cautious in the future.

Tried to keep at a race pace but as usual my pace was a bit of a roller coaster. Even with music I can’t keep it very consistent from one minute to the next. I need to work on that, but perhaps my consistent race pace is slower than I’d like it to be and that’s why I have such a hard time. I know that I was pushing the limits given how high my heart rate would get. I think maybe it’s time to put aside the training plan that is trying to get me faster and just get out and enjoy the run. Kicking Off The Week With A Nice Run

This morning was one of those slow to get out of bed mornings. Once I got out and started breathing in some fresh crisp morning air I was awake and ready to roll. Especially after hitting play on the workout worship music. The first half of my run was time to just enjoy the worship music, the second half of my run I spent a lot of time in prayer. The combination of prayer, worship, and running it’s kind of a trifecta for me. I’m blessed that God had bought me to this place. Putting in a well in Africa takes planning, which is not unlike using a training plan for running with a race as the goal. In order for a well to be successfully drilled there is a lot of planning and preparing that needs to be done.
