Kicking Things Up A Notch
Today my training run was kicked up a notch with some interval speed work. It definitely tested how recovered I am from the marathon. It’s been awhile since I have done any high intensity runs of substantial length. These sorts of runs do make it hard to spend a lot of time focusing on prayer unfortunately. It did however bring to mind #WhyIRun during some of the intense intervals and help to keep me pushing on. #HWI #Run4Water Donate to Clean Water – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne
Frustrating DNF Saturday Long Run
I hate it when the lack of having a bathroom is the cause for a DNF on a Saturday long run, today was another one of those. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GroundhogMarathon #RiverBankRun
Running To The Beat
Nothing too spectacular about my run this morning. Tried sticking to the interval paces as best I could. I did pretty good but I know I didn’t slow down quite enough given that I should have gotten 9.2 miles in but it ended up being 9.65. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus
A New Well Is A Celebration
When visited Sierra Leone I was able to experience a village celebration of a new well. The joy and excitement that I saw made every mile I ran through #HWI worth every challenge, or pain, or struggle. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Donate to Clean Water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr

This sort of infrastructure is just not widely available in Africa. Where even most rural homes in the U.S. have had their own well available right outside their home. Imagine having to make a couple of mile trek for a small amount of water to hopeful get through the day. A well changes all of that for a family in Africa.
A Tough Tuesday Training Run
I could tell from the start that it was going to be a tough run. I even made a point of going to bed early the night before, because I was going to need to be up by 3:45am to get my 11 mile done at a decent time. I made it to 10 miles and had to stop and let my keys takes rest. I ended up doing some walk/run intervals to get myself home. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus It was one of those tough runs where you begin to question your training and whether you’re going to even be able to tackle the next race. I’m going to need to keep my eye on the cause in order to get through this I…
