Hitting The Training Run Hard
Today was a short assessment training run, basically 12 minutes of giving it all you’ve got. It’s preceded by, and follows, a 5 minute warmup & cool down run respectively. I did an out-and-back while giving myself some distance for a final cool down walk to home. We’ll see what this means for my final target pace for the Groundhog Marathon. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus I’m looking forward to representing Hope Water at the Groundhog Marathon again. My hope is to keep on target with the pace my training plan estimated and to complete it without having to walk. What Does A Speed And Endurance Test Run Get You?
No training with my running partner this morning as he is doing a 5k this evening. Not a huge problem since I was needing to do a short speed & endurance test run this morning. We’ll see how it affects the rest of the training plan. Unfortunately, these sorts of runs end up resulting in me focusing only on the run and not much else. Since I got up at the normal training run time I should have some extra non-running quiet time to morning. #HWI #GRMarathon #Run4Water
How Do You Stay Warm In Sub-Zero Temps? Run.
It really looks worse than it was. I was trying to get a smile in there but I think things were a little too frozen. Ha. Despite how cold things were with the wind chill, it was really a comfortable run. I even got finished with a pretty great average pace. While I listened to the worship music playing I spent time thinking about and praying for our Sierra Leone team. I’m excited to see God’s plans unfold. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun
4th 5K…Struggling With My Progress
Since I had more time today, day off today, I took an extra 4 minutes to cool down. Lost the full stats but caught my average minutes per mile to be 10. Feeling a bit frustrated with that average given that my best average to date was 9:31min/mi, just a week ago. :-/ I feel like I’m getting worse not better. Need to figure out what’s going on. Two Weeks Since Groundhog
It’s hard to believe that it was 2 weeks ago that I did the Groundhog Day Marathon. It’s been nice to get back into a running routine this past week. Do to so e family things going on I wasn’t able to make it to run with those from the #HWI team. Hopefully I’ll be able to make some time soon. This morning while I listened to the worship music I was thinking about the next #SierraLeone team.
