Another Real Winter 4 Mile Saturday Run

It was a snowy, blowing, cold winter run this morning. Let’s just say it was some tough going. However, despite the thoughts of quitting early because it was just too bad out, or too slippery, I pushed through and got it done.

All Registered For The Next Journey

I’m officially registered for the GR Half Marathon. Looking forward to the journey and the community! What a great night for the Hope Water kick off! I’ll be doing the half marathon, which seems crazy, but my wife is my inspiration. I also can’t wait to be a part of the the amazing work God is doing with the Hope Water Team to provide clean water to people in Africa. So proud of my wife who is joining the team headed to Africa in a week to dedicate some of the wells the team helped to put in and serve the people.

Short Easy Wintery Run

Since I’ll be getting a lot of walking in today on my daughter’s field trip I decided to just get it a few miles this morning. Nice short slow run. It was much colder than yesterday so I put on an extra layer. Sporting my new winter running gloves with reflective finger covers. Since the majority of my running is in the dark I do my best to think about safety and being seen. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun

I haven’t run into a race course yet that didn’t have some hills. When you are training it’s important to do some hill training if you don’t want to get caught off guard with hills during your race. Between sidewalks and paved trails, we are pretty blessed with the conditions we have to run in. In stark contrast, for most in #SierraLeone the road to water is dangerous. Hard Working Weekend, Deck Progress Was Made

Besides an awesome 5K training group run with the HWI Team Daybreak on Saturday it was pretty much a deck building weekend. I spent most of the day Saturday completing the deck support base. And on Sunday I was able to get cracking on screwing down the deck board. I completed half the deck. I put the patio furniture on the finished area just to feel a little bit more sense of accomplishment. I was really hoping to get it all finished this weekend but I’ll be plugging away at the second half this week. Hopefully i’ll have it completed by or during next weekend.
