For many in Africa it is a long and sometimes treacherous road to get to the nearest place for water. Bringing a well to a village not only ensures they have clean water but also the safety of those young girls and boys that would have had to make the trip for water for their families.

Wow, what a great 20 mile training run today. That may sound crazy but with the cool weather and the great company of Harvey, Jason, and John it made for a good time. I can definitely tell I ran 20 miles, a little over actually, but I feel very good. Today’s training run was an intense interval run that pretty much required my complete focus. I only had 30 seconds to “recover” between my 6 minute long 8 minutes/mile pace intervals, and there were 8 of those. I had quite a few misses, and I was short on my final distance by about .02 miles, but overall I still knocked it out with a good time. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

Trying to do interval training runs in the cold winter months can be challenging. Even with the right gear which I highly recommend, you have to be careful so you don’t end up taking a dive. Snow and ice can make speed a definite challenge when attempting faster interval runs. Give thanks to the Lord , for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. – 1 Chronicles 16:34 NLT There are days, sometimes even seasons, in our lives that are tough, even painful, and yet we still need to give thanks to God. No matter what valleys we end up in God is there and we can find some blessings in our lives. I’m glad to be reminded today that, despite feeling like everything is falling apart around me, God is still there and He has blessed me with a lot.
