DNF 14 Miles, Winter Won Today
Some days you have a hard run, then there are some days where your it’s just brutal. Today the deep coat of fresh snow got the better of me. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus I was even doing my best just stick with my training plan running pace of 11:01/mi, but that wasn’t enough to get me through it. After 10 miles I just need to rest, which was only 2.5 miles after I had started up again running with the Hope Water team for maybe a mile before we parted ways. It’s tough having a day like to day knowing that in 2 weeks I’m supposed to be running a marathon (26.2 miles for those that don’t know).
First Weekend Camping – Summer 2018

11 Frosty Beard Miles
Today marks the last of my longer training runs as the taper begins before marathon day. The temp this morning was in the high teens which resulted in a pretty frosty beard. I ended up pushing things a little harder than the training plan called for, but I was trying to make it back home at a decent time. I ended up a bit slower the second half because I pushed things a bit harder than I should have, but that’s just the way it goes. Frustrating DNF Saturday Long Run

Thomas I was challenged today in how I approach being a Dad. Too often I choose to focus on everything but my kids. Our time is too short with our kids, and there will be years ahead when we will have all kinds of time to pursue other things. I will say that this is one of the reasons I wake up at 4am some days to get a run in as I make an effort to not let my running negatively impact my family. #parenting #sacrifice #responsibility
