It’s still a little bit to get used to doing these longer “midweek” runs on a Monday instead of a Tuesday, but I think I’m getting into a groove with it. It was good that I had a week of blistering cold Minnesota running which pretty much prepared me for the colder weather we’ve had this week. This morning was a shorter interval run, but the 20 minute high intensity interval pretty much set me up to only focus on the run, and the upcoming Groundhog Day Marathon. I’m trying to just trust my training is preparing me like it should but the longest I’ve ran since the last marathon was 18 miles, which is 8.2 miles short. (John 14:1-14) When Christ was here on Earth in and among the Disciples, man was able to see God first hand. Even then the Disciples didn’t quite get it, not really realizing that they had God among them. Today it might seem that we don’t have the benefit of seeing God as the Disciples did, however the Holy Spirit does live among us. I’m reminded of the sermon that Christ gave about the “sheep” and the “goats” as they came to heaven and Christ seperated them based on how they served and loved others. Back In The Saddle On The Road To Recovery

I couldn’t do another day of just walking. I did my best to keep it a slow jog. I also continued to use the slower pace to have some good one-on-one time with God and pray for friends and family that I know need support for the things they are going through right now. As I continue to recover and work my way into a normal running routine again I need to keep working on where my focus is as I run. I’m thankful for how my recovery is going, and also thankful for the opportunity to see my running from a different perspective. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon

Seeing, And Meeting, The Needs of Others

Responding to the Needs of Others Around You I have, at times, been cognizant of the needs of those I’ve been in connection with. Most often the help has come by way of financial assistance. There have been other times that non-financial needs have arose and I’ve responded, but those times seem to have been in the minority. Being Intentional About Seeing, And Meeting, The Needs of Those Around Us We are called to not only help our brothers and sisters in Christ, but to help all those in need around us. I’m reminded of the book the 10 Second Rule. There are so many needs all around us. How often do we simply turn a blind eye all because of our own selfish desires?…
