Praying For Rain And Wells In Sierra Leone

As I felt the light rain coming down as I ran I couldn’t help but think of and the long drive season they, putting a strain on water supplies. I especially thought of the village of and their struggles for water. I continue to pray for the rains needed to grow their crops and restore their water supplies. I also pray that Ronkorhun would see the miracle of a new drilled well in their village sooner than anyone could have expected.

It is an honor that Hope Water Intl is working with World Hope Intl in a joint mission to bring clean water to Africa. I am proud to know that #WHI is not just sending Americans into Africa to help and leave, but rather they train and employ locals to carry out the mission. Whether they need drivers, administration, or well drillers, nearly everyone is a national. I didn’t get a chance to hear each of their stories on how they got to where they are today. I’m thankful for the nice weather this evening, and for making it back safely from Minnesota, to get my long run in tonight. It was a tough one doing it at night and all alone. You don’t realize how many miles a running partner gets you through without you even feeling it until you don’t have one on those long runs. I’m looking forward to getting back to a normal routine again. Not that I’m happy with just the status quo, but being back in a controlled environment where it’s easier to stick to the good habits and resist the bad ones. Feeling Like An Intense 5K Run

As I hit the pavement this morning I felt like just kicking into high gear for the entire run. I’m not quite sure that it was an overall lifetime #PR for a #5K but I’m pretty sure I finished better than more recent 5K times. What’s crazy is that it wasn’t like I had gotten extra sleep last night or had taken some time off running. I know turning on the new Christian Workout/Running playlist helped. Maybe since I’m on the taper for the marathon, and the miles aren’t as high, I’m just feeling like I have more energy.
