A Timely Study I Needed This Week

This was an interesting week to say the least. Did it go like I had planned, or hoped, maybe not? This week did teach me some clear areas I need to work on as a parent, and an even greater appreciation for how amazing my wife is. This study was both timely and needed as I worked through this week. I highly recommend anyone in the parenting stage to give this devotional a read, but prepared to be challenged by it.

Are You As Smart As My 6 Year Old?

So I just witnessed my 6 year old daughter count backwards from 90 to zero. I’m constantly amazed at how smart she is. Not to mention that she is already reading at a 2nd grade level.

(Exodus 3:1-5) So God used a burning bush to get Moses attention. What does He use today to get our attention. I’m reminded of something a pastor said recently, “can we hear God’s whisper in this loud world?”, can we? The world that we live in is definitely busier and louder than in Biblical times. Outdoor Discovery Center Class Trip With Marissa

I had a great day hanging out with my daughter on her class trip to the Outdoor Discovery Center in Holland. This is the first class trip, and first activity I’ve done with my daughter since she’s started school. I’m so thankful that I took the PTO to make it happen. I’ve only done 1 other thing, reading to my son Jacob’s class. I’m trying to do better at being more involved like this.

That title actually has a couple of meaning this morning. As I drove myself to work this morning it kind of hit how spiritually dry I feel today. Wasteful Weekends, Geeks…Gotta Love Em

So yeah, I pretty much wasted the weekend away again. Not totally, but I could have done a lot more than I did. I guess I sort of get tired of doing stuff, like work, all the time and want some time to just kick back and relax. I’m feeling like I’m kind of spinning my wheels with the web job. I really like to nail down the site design before I do the custom programming stuff. The problem is they’ve given me hardly anything to work with.
