The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly…

Well, yes I’m finally posting to the blog again. Trips tend to take me out of the blog-o-sphere. Well, sorry to disappoint many, but this is going to be a short one tonight. I’m not quite out of the dark on the sick feeling that hit me yesterday, pretty close though.

The Good: Had a good time with my family and got to hang out with two of my best friends growing up. It’s interesting to see where we are all at now in life. John’s all married with a baby on the way. Sounds like they’ll be doing some moving around in the years to come. I really hope John’s finds the job he’s really looking for. Jeff is still as quirky as every. John & I agreed we could see him being one of those eccentric professors, this is probably where he’s headed. And then there’s me, you all know where I’m at. A new 15in G4 arrives tomorrow! :-/

Excellent Weekend…

Magnificent SevenWell, I didn’t get a post made last night. I just got a little tired to make the post. Also, there wasn’t much that went on Saturday. I got up around 9:30 and got around to getting my remaining leaves cleaned up and taken to the dump before the rain came. I made some bread in the bread machine for the first time. The crust got a little harder and thicker than I would have preferred but it was tasty. I mostly bummed around that day. I went over to John O’s that night and watched “The Magnificent Seven” with Rud Wasson & Shawn Osborne. It was a good old .

Today I got up for the early service at church. John Kilde gave the message and it was excellent. I always love to hear Pastor Kilde. After the service Anders and I headed to the cities for . We had an excellent car ride down. It was kind of funny as once we got close to the cities let me down. It had no clue how to get us to . We could have been to the Theatre at 1pm, but didn’t make it until 1:45. Anders had a good laugh at my getting lost in the cities. I now realize I need to get myself a good map before I head that way again. I might make a point of talking to my Dad before I go too as he knows the cities better than I do.

Friday & Traveling…

Well Friday was a typical day. The construction on my new office is taking a little longer than originally hoped. It looks like I should be in by next Wednesday, the server equipment will have to wait until next Friday. I had to take an early lunch break so I could be home while they fixed my internet. It ended up being some problem with the signal coming from the poll. Basically I ended up eating my lunch while I continued working at my desk. I took off early to head to Brainerd for the evening, to say a final goodbye to my brother. He was shipped out at about 1am Saturday. I didn’t stay to actually see him off as I wanted to get home at a decent time. HP LaserJet 4M PlusMy Dad brought the computer equipment he got for me from his work, they were having a yard sale of sorts. He has explained that they’ve now got all-in-one copier/printers that they use now. I got two laser printers & a bunch of hard drives. When I got home that night I decided to get one of the printers hooked up. It was pretty slick as both printers have networking cards and are Mac compatible. The one I’m keeping even has a duplexing unit. It works pretty sweet. I picked up some laser paper for it today. The other printer I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it.

Camping Trip…Sa-weat!

So Begins the AdventureWhat a weekend! I have to say that this weekend was the most fun and restful trip I’ve had in a long time. From the car-ride on Friday, to the trip back, the weekend was filled with amazing fellowship and much needed rest.

On Friday Laura got to my house after work and we headed to the campground, St Croix State Park, to meet up with Chad. Chad had a conference in the area, so he was able to get to the campsite and setup camp before we got there. I had a great opportunity to talk with Laura and get to know her better during the car-ride. We arrived at about almost 9pm. Chad had everything up and going, including a campfire. We sat around the fire and just enjoyed the nice evening, fire, and fellowship. We headed off to bed for the night. Chad was concerned about the size of their tent to fit us all, but I had brought my own tent with just in case. I figured it would be more comfortable, and a little better for them to be able to have a tent to themselves, so I setup my own tent. More >
