Busy Night…Small World

Well, today (er, I guess looking at the time I have to say tomorrow), it was a pretty slow day at work. Had a fun time talking about bread with a co-worker, she has like 3 bread machines, seems like her family would have bread coming our of their ears. From the conversations in the break room today you could definitely tell it was a Friday. After work I stopped at the seminary to meet with Phil to talk about a projector installation project. This will probably be a side job, which means some extra cash. It shouldn’t take too much to get a list of the equipment needed and do the install.

I decided I wanted to get over to the play at “A Center for the Arts”. There were 4 youth involved in it from youth group. They did a really excellent job. It was basically the story of the Princess and the Pea as a musical. It had some pretty funny parts. If anyone close might be reading this before the Saturday night show I would recommend going.

Well when I got home from work I actually got a call from Ben about taking in a moving. I had already talked to John Olson about going to the play so I didn’t want to change those plans. Ben was looking to go to the 9:45 showing of the new Harry Potter movie. I decided why not make it a full night, and a late one at that. So I went to Harry Potter. I’ve only seen one before this one, I think I was told it was number two. I’m not really into Harry Potter, but it was a good movie.

Well, the final thing of the night. Another eHarmony match is originally from Fergus Falls. This is too crazy that I’ve now been connected with two people that were from Fergus but are now living near or in the Twin Cities. One concern I sort of have is age I guess. The honest truth is I’d be more inclined to persue a relationship with the older of the two, one is 22 and the other 25. Age isn’t really a concern for me except that I only wonder if I would be able to connect with someone that is closer in age to myself. Well, we’ll see where God takes me in the eHarmony ride. The issue I feel I face is how can I pursue getting to know both of these people. I guess there should be any reason why I can’t, except for perhaps if one of these were to ever become more serious. I guess for now there is no reason to worry about it. Whatever God’s lead is in this will be evident. Well I need to get some sleep. Signing off…

A Verse That Describes The Church In Kathirie Sierra Leone

“They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity.” – 2 Corinthians 8:2 NLT This morning at Daybreak this verse was one that was part of Pastor Wes’ message. As it was being read I instantly began remembering my experience at the Sunday morning service in Kathirie. As I watched the church members give the morning offerings, giving not only to the general offering but also to a building fund and missions, I could only think about the amazing work God was doing in the village.

    Another Year Older…

Well, I’m now one year older at 27. I guess I’m kind of starting off this new year of my birth with some changes, LOL. I was able to get up at 5 this morning & be to work by 7. I ate breakfast, watched a little news, did some devotions. I was given a little celebration during break at work too! I was given a birthday balloon and a card from everyone in the office. It was nice to have my birthday be a little more than just another day. That was really the extent of it but it was the best birthday I’ve had in a long while. Some year it might be nice to actually have a party with friends. No biggy…

    The Invisible Man Speaks!

OK, folks. So it has been a rather long time since I last posted. Let’s just say that my life has been a little busy. Last week on Monday I started my new job. My official title is Associate Network Planning Engineer, isn’t that a mouth full. I work on a team that develops tools to help track the cellular network and help to plan for expansion. The crazy thing about last Monday was that even though I was starting no one there that day really knew that I was starting. The guys I work with got the emails that morning about me starting. The IT deptartment wasn’t very happy as they hadn’t even begun working on getting me a computer. I basically had not…

    Completed My First Marathon…

Today was a pretty big day for me. I completed my first ever marathon. It was a tough day, with the down pouring rain, wind gusts of 20 some miles per hour, and getting cramps in my legs that slowed me down, I ended the race pretty discouraged. Not to mention I ended up having to be taken to the medic tent after crossing the finish line, which was something my running partner and I had talked about not wanting to have happen to us. Let’s just say it was a pretty humbling experience. I’m so thankful for all of the encouragement from the many Hope Water International runners the kept encouraging me on the way to the finish line. I especially appreciate Ron Bussa and Nick…

    Your Will Be Done…

So I’ve been lying in my bed restless, and this after taking night-time cold medicine, for the last 2 hours. Before I layed down I spent a good long while reading some scripture, some devotionals, and another book. I’m feeling right now that all I want for my life is to be doing what God wants me to be doing and going where He wants me to go. I don’t know what this mean for my future. I’ve had a million possible actions run through my head, from continuing on with where and what I’m doing, to up and moving to even another country and doing something. I’m beginning to feel an urgency. I’m thinking this is what has been causing all my restless nights…

    Life Without Internet…Thursday

Thursday was an ok day at work. I really didn’t feel like I was able to keep on task as well as I would have liked. I was able to make some progress on the CLB site, integrating the forums into the homepage. I also got to talking with Todd about the whole blogging thing. He had setup himself with a Blogger.com blog. I offered to host a WordPress blog for him, then we got on the sunject of creating a CLB Blog site. Not sure how much of a demand there might be for this. I think it might be cool if Synod Staff & Pastors had blogs through the CLB. I didn’t get out of work till like 6. I decided to take…
